- The Malleolus family, made up of Malleolus, Malleolus de Valderramiro and Malleolus de Sanchomartín, renews its image, paying tribute to its origins.
- Catalonia continues to be a key market for the Ribera del Duero winery with a history of more than 100 years behind it.
Bodegas Emilio Moro, one of the most nationally and internationally renowned wineries in Ribera del Duero, presented the new image of the Malleolus family in Barcelona. The company has always considered Catalonia a key market as far as the reception of its wines is concerned ‘For us, Catalonia is a priority territory, not only because of what we share; the culture, the tradition and the landscape of wine; but also because of the solid and competitive structure that makes Catalonia a market in which we want to continue to grow’, says Javier Moro, president of Bodegas Emilio Moro.
The presentation event, held at the Adobo restaurant in Barcelona and attended by critics and journalists from the sector, aimed to bring these wines closer to the attendees, who were able to enjoy these new vintages with a spectacular pairing. Furthermore, in his welcome speech, Javier Moro, president of the winery, wanted to share the good moment in which they find themselves. ‘At Bodegas Emilio Moro we are living in a very special moment as a company, as a family. We are immersed in a time of new opportunities, growth and progress,’ Javier said in his welcome speech.
NEW VINTAGE, NEW IMAGE, SAME ESSENCE
The journey of the Valladolid winery began more than 100 years ago and, since then, it has been evolving, growing as a family, as a company. Together with the presentation of the new vintages, and fulfilling its objective of growth and evolution, Bodegas Emilio Moro shows the new image of the Malleolus Family, with labels that pay tribute to its origins, becoming a perfect combination of history and evolution.
For the winery, tradition is an irreplaceable value and, as a tribute to its beginnings, this new image includes Emilio Moro’s signature, just as the first labels did in the past. The characteristic medallions have also been retained, and have been restored to some extent to their original position. Moreover, each Malleolus comes from a different type of soil, which gives them very different characteristics and peculiarities, a very important detail that is also highlighted on this new label.
Javier Moro was proud because for the winery ‘it’s a source of satisfaction for our brand to evolve while remaining steadfast in our search for excellence, knowing how to adapt to the trends set by our consumers, and with the launch of these vintages and the change of image, we believe we have achieved this’.

NEXT STEPS
Bodegas Emilio Moro is currently undergoing a period of growth and evolution, and proof of this are the projects in which they are immersed.
A few weeks ago, the Valladolid winery began a new relationship with the House of Joseph Perrier, a French Champagne house that has been making Champagne since 1825. ‘This union arises from the values that both families share, and we are very excited to be able to collaborate with them,’ said Javier Moro.
And in the coming months, Bodegas Emilio Moro will see its dream of working with the Godello grape in its own winery come true, as it will celebrate the opening of its winery in Leon, in El Bierzo.
