Clon de la Familia was born in 2009 with the aim of expressing values that are fundamental for Bodegas Emilio Moro: tradition, character and passion. This wine is the result of the careful selection of the best vines from the Moro family’s vineyards.
Clone de la Familia comes from chalky, clayey and stony soils. Grapes from two complementary plots are used to make this wine:
This combination gives it unique characteristics that make it the winery’s most premium wine and has made it an unrivalled Ribera del Duero.
Clon de la Familia macerates for approximately 26 days in small capacity tanks at a controlled temperature. It is aged in exclusive barrels which respect the aromas of the fruit and of the land from which it comes.
Deep garnet-red in colour, the bouquet is intense and extraordinarily complex, full of delicate nuances of red and black fruits. The evolution in the glass is excellent, revealing its fruity base and complexity. On the tongue it is intense and silky with a powerful tannin. It has a warm, fruity and very pleasant finish.

The 2018 growing season began with an extraordinarily rainy April and May, which caused a slight delay in bud burst. During the summer months, rainfall was below historical values, which helped to balance the growing cycle of the vines. The temperatures were very close to normal for the region, except during the last stage of ripening when they were above average, bringing optimal ripeness levels and great balance in the grapes.
