Quality production
The weather of 2020 was marked by a slight increase in the average temperature which, together with the plentiful rainfall in spring, resulted in excellent plant growth. The rains during the harvest period did not affect the quality of the grapes used to produce wines of high quality, aromatic expression and intensity.
Excellence as a hallmark of identity
It is made with 100% Tempranillo grapes, also known as Tinto Fino, from Pago de Sanchomartín, a totally limestone soil. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration are carried out in small stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, they were subsequently aged in a new French oak barrel.
Rounded and powerful wine
Very deep, intense cherry red colour. An elegant aroma full of character. The balance between ripe black fruit and notes of red fruit provides vivacity and finesse. It expresses subtle and complex tertiary notes soon after pouring, completing the full picture of an excellent wine. It is intense but balance on the palate, with good acidity and great length, with a long and very agreeable aftertaste.
One of the most sublime Tempranillo wines from Bodegas Emilio Moro. Named after the Pago de Sanchomartín, a vineyard located in the municipality of Pesquera de Duero, which was planted in 1944 and later grafted in 1964 with scions from the clones of the family’s oldest vineyards. It stands out for being a powerful, elegant and persistent wine.
The Emilio Moro labels stand out for their image of a medallion that tells the story of the family from its beginnings. On Malleolus de Sanchomartín we can see a photo of Emilio Moro in front of one of the first vintages of the winery (1985).
