The history of Malleolus de Valderramiro began in 2000, but the vineyard from which it takes its name is much older, dating back to 1924. A historic vineyard whose unique feature is that four generations of a family with a long winemaking tradition are dedicated to preserving the essence and personality of this majuelo, which represents our history.
Malleolus de Valderramiro comes from a single plot, which gives its name to the wine, with predominantly clay soils. These clay soils give personality and structure to this iconic wine.
Malleolus de Valderramiro is macerated with the skins for approximately 26 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The malolactic fermentation is partially carried out in American and French oak barrels.
Very deep garnet, expressive and ripe bouquet, with an outstanding intensity that shows notes of high quality fruit, and black fruits with a liquorice profile. Remarkable development in the glass, without loss of fruity intensity. It expresses resinous and lactic tertiary notes of great complexity, making for an aromatic expressiveness with an excellent balance between creaminess and finesse. The mouthfeel leaves an excellent finish: intense but round, ripe and well-balanced.

The weather of 2020 was marked by a slight increase in the average temperature which, together with the plentiful rainfall in spring, resulted in excellent plant growth. The rains during the harvest period did not affect the quality of the grapes used to produce wines of high quality, aromatic expression and intensity.
