2016 was an important year for Bodegas Emilio Moro because with the exit of La Revelía, together with El Zarzal, a new exciting project began in El Bierzo. Our objective was clear: to promote the Godello grape variety and to invest in a growing wine-growing area. With La Revelía we laid the foundations of a dream that has come true today with our own winery in what is now our second home, El Bierzo.
The label of La Revelía pays tribute to the essence of the Godello grape that is so present in the wine.
It comes from the middle parts of the slopes and north-west orientations, which give La Revelía a perfect balance. In terms of orientation, we look for areas where maturity is extended and the variety is able to develop a perfect balance.
Fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks with subsequent ageing over the lees in 500-litre lightly toasted French oak barrels.
La Revelía 2023 presents an intense straw-yellow colour with golden highlights, bright and crystalline, immediately suggesting careful winemaking and a well-judged period of ageing. On the nose, it displays notable complexity, combining fennel and refined herbal notes with a clearly defined mineral profile, alongside dried white flowers and ripe stone fruit such as peach and apricot. In the background, subtle nuances of fine patisserie and delicate honeyed notes emerge, contributed by ageing in 500-litre French oak barrels; these elements are seamlessly integrated and never dominate the overall expression. On the palate, the wine is generous yet fluid, with an enveloping texture, precise balance and a vibrant acidity that lends freshness and tension. The finish is long and persistent, leaving an
elegant mineral and fruity aftertaste.

The year was marked by an unusual rainfall pattern. 2023 began with a spring of mild temperatures and a rainy June, which encouraged good vine growth and ample water reserves in the soil for the summer, which was dry and somewhat hot. The grapes reached the ripening period with a good balance between alcohol potential and ripeness. They were harvested in good weather, which ensured their excellent health.
