Emilio Moro: Vendimia Seleccionada was released for the first time in 2015 and is so named because it is made with grapes from the plots destined for the production of Emilio Moro, which the Moro family carefully selects taking into account those which, in terms of vintage and characteristics, will yield the maximum expression.
The type of soil in Vendimia Seleccionada is determined by the batch selected each year.
In general, it comes from soils typical of the intermediate altitude areas (what we call terraces) that form the transition between the Douro valley and the páramo. They are medium-textured soils, generally loamy-clayey, with medium fertility and an excellent capacity for vine-growing.
Emilio Moro: The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and macerated with the skins for 15 days before being aged in French and American oak barrels.
Intense and expressive bouquet, with a range of black fruits, blackberries and blueberries at their peak of ripeness. As it evolves in the glass, nuances of complexity, balsamic spices and liquorice appear. On the palate it is fleshy and structured, with ripe, silky tannins that add volume and length to the mouthfeel.

The winter of 2023 saw generous rains, adding to the soil’s water reserves, but the cycle started without the typical spring rains and lasted until June. Temperatures were higher than expected and resulted in full ripening of the fruit. Just before the harvest there were generous storms that modulated the cycle and balanced the concentration.
Discover the three wines of the Emilio Moro family, three 100% tempranillo wines that are part of a legacy.
