La Felisa was created in 2016 to honour Felisa Espinosa, the most important woman at Bodegas Emilio Moro. Mother and grandmother of the third and fourth generation of the Moro family. But it also pays homage to how wines were made in the past: a wine with a more primary and rustic character. La Felisa is a different wine that tries to evoke the memories that the third generation had when their parents, Emilio and Felisa, were making wine.
Felisa comes from high-altitude areas, where aeration is abundant and the health of the grapes is optimal, which allows for viticulture with hardly any phytosanitary intervention. These areas are dominated by well-drained soils with limited fertility but high viticultural potential.
La Felisa is made from organic grapes, without the use of sulphur, fermented at a controlled temperature and macerated with the skins for 15 days.
A deep, striking purple in colour. The nose is intense, with lots of personality, and notable fresh red and black fruit flavours. Overall a characteristic violet floral aroma stands out, accompanied by hints of citrus and liquorice, giving this wine a surprising and unusual flavour profile. It is full-bodied and structured in the mouth, with well-balanced acidity and a long, fresh, persistent finish.

The winter of 2023 saw generous rains, adding to the soil’s water reserves, but the cycle started without the typical spring rains and lasted until June. Temperatures were higher than expected and resulted in full ripening of the fruit. Just before the harvest there were generous storms that modulated the cycle and balanced the concentration.
