In 2002, Malleolus de Sanchomartín was launched, thus completing the Malleolus Family, the premium range of Bodegas Emilio Moro wines. It is named after the Sanchomartín vineyard, a majuelo planted in 1964.
Malleolus de Sanchomartín comes from a plot located at a high altitude, where we find clay-loam soils, with a notable presence of limestone. The chemical composition of the soil and its peculiar structural characteristics give this wine its elegance, finesse and complexity.
Malleolus de Sanchomartín is macerated in its skins for approximately 28 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, then it is aged in new French oak barrels.
Very deep, intense cherry red colour. An elegant aroma full of character. The balance between ripe black fruit and notes of red fruit provides vivacity and finesse. It expresses subtle and complex tertiary notes soon after pouring, completing the full picture of an excellent wine. It is intense but balanced on the palate, with good acidity and great length, with a long and very agreeable finish.

The favorable spring temperatures of 2022 accelerated vegetative growth, which was later slowed by the onset of summer. The warm and dry weather persisted through the harvest, resulting in an exceptional concentration and ripeness of the grapes.
